Introduction to An Ruli(erhu)Master performer

An Ruli, from Yuci, Shanxi. Professor of China Conservatory of Music, member of China Musicians Association, President of Erhu Society of China Musicians Association. Mr. An Ruli graduated from the Music Department of Beijing University of the Arts with a bachelor's degree. He is the true disciple of Mr. Jiang Fengzhi, a famous erhu performer and educator, and has inherited the essence of Jiang's school of erhu. He has successively studied Banhu and Gaohu under the tutelage of the famous Banhu performer and educator Mr. Liu Mingyuan, and the famous Jinghu performer Mr. He Shunxin to learn Jinghu. In the long-term practice and exploration, he has formed his own unique playing style. His playing techniques are particular and varied, the timbre is pure and beautiful, and the music processing is delicate and profound, simple, complete and touching. For example, in the performance of "Autumn Moon in the Han Palace", he used delicate and varied techniques to play the mournful and lingering melody in the music like weeping. Mr. An Ruli has been engaged in teaching for nearly 50 years, and has cultivated many outstanding erhu performers, professional teachers and professional performers.

In 1983, he collaborated with the composer and conductor Professor Huang Xiaofei to create the Erhu Concerto "Snow in June", which won the second prize of the first composition competition of the China Conservatory of Music.

In 1986, he himself was awarded the honorary certificate of "the students you teach won prizes in the national erhu competition" issued by the China Conservatory of Music. In 1989, he won the "Gardener Award" in the ART Cup China Musical Instrument International Competition.

In 1990 and 1991, he won two "Gardener Award" in the sixth and seventh Beijing Children's National Instrumental Music Competition.

In 1995, he was awarded the title of "Beijing Excellent Teacher of 1995". In 1999, he won the 99 "Au Yongxi Outstanding Music Education Award" by the Ministry of Culture.

In 1983, he was invited to participate in the preparatory meeting for the establishment of the Japan-China Music and Literature Association, the Japan-China Friendship Association of Sushan County, and the Zishan County Zhengqu Federation, and held Sino-Japanese music and cultural festivals and exchanges in various parts of Japan.

In 1989, he went to Austria to participate in the "Vienna Art Festival" performance.

In 1993, he went to Japan to participate in Japan-China diplomatic relations, Japan-China Peace and Friendship Treaty Commemorative Performance and other activities.

In 1994, at the invitation of Taiwan Chinese Culture University, he served as a visiting professor in the Department of Chinese Music of Taiwan Chinese Culture University.

In 1995, at the invitation of the Kaohsiung City Experimental Chinese Orchestra, Taiwan, he participated in the "Snow in June" special concert performance and lectures and other activities.

In 1996, he was invited to Seoul, South Korea to cooperate with the Chinese Orchestra of Qiuxi University of the Arts, and performed the Korean composer's new Erhu Concerto "Wind" in the Auditorium of the National Traditional Music Institute.

In March 1996, the "An Ruli Erhu Concert" was held in the Cultural and Entertainment Hall of Shatin Town Hall in Hong Kong, which was widely praised.

In May 2001, at the invitation of the Macao Chinese Orchestra, he participated in the concert of the Macao Chinese Orchestra's "Golden Song of Ancient Rhymes".

Mr. An Ruli collaborated with composer and conductor Huang Xiaofei to create the erhu concerto "Snow in June" (premiered at Beijing National Culture Palace in 1983, recorded and broadcast by CCTV) and "Icing on the Cake" (People's Music Publishing House, Jilin Audio-Visual Publishing House) ), "Remember", "Ah! "Xili" (People's Music Publishing House, Jilin Audio and Video Publishing House), "Waiting for the Grass" (People's Music Publishing House), "Chujiang Nostalgia" and many other erhu solos.

In 1983, China Record Club published the album and tape of Erhu and the band "Autumn Moon in the Han Palace". In 1990, Beijing TV station "Accumulate" program broadcasted "An Ruli Erhu Playing Style and Traditional Erhu Song "Flower Joy", 1993 Hong Kong Longyin Production Co., Ltd. published the CD record of "Snow in June" An Ruli Erhu Solo Album. In 1997, Jilin Audiovisual Publishing House published the "Chinese Music Garden Traditional Erhu" performed by An Ruli, Zhou Yaokun, Wang Yiqin and Song Fei. Song Album" CD records and tapes, and in the same year, CCTV's "Oriental Time and Space" album broadcast "The Son of the East, An Ruli".

He wrote the monographs "Erhu Teaching Art" (China Federation of Literary and Art Circles Publishing Company) and "Erhu Teaching System Engineering". For the first time in the field of Chinese musical instrument teaching, Erhu teaching has been formed into a systematic, standardized and scientific complete teaching system.

On the evening of May 18, 2010, an extraordinary concert was grandly staged in the Guoyin Hall of the China Conservatory of Music. The concert gathered almost all the top erhu artists at home and abroad, which is extremely rare in the music industry. And these mainstays of the erhu world come together to pay tribute to their common teacher. The teacher is An Ruli, a well-known erhu performer and educator in my country, known as a national leader in the Chinese folk music industry, and was recently informed that he was suffering from advanced colorectal cancer. At the concert, 71-year-old An Ruli dragged his sick body to give an unforgettable performance to the audience, and this performance on the same stage full of teachers and students infected everyone present.

On June 2, 2010, he passed away in Beijing at 8 am at the age of 71!
