Cao Yuande, an erhu performer, born in Jiangyin City, Jiangsu Province, was born in August 1941. He studied under the teacher Zhang Rui, an erhu performer, composer and educator. Mr. Cao Yuande has been included in "Who's Who in the World", "Dictionary of Chinese Experts" and "Son of the East". In 1987, he joined the Shanghai Chinese Orchestra.
In his 40-year artistic career, Cao Yuande has formed his own unique style in erhu performance. In particular, he is very particular about the timbre of the erhu, which is pure in tone, sincere in emotion and skilled in skills. From 1965 to 1999, he visited Indonesia, Cambodia, the former Soviet Union, Poland, Hungary, Albania, Germany, the United States, Switzerland, Singapore, Taiwan, and Hong Kong with the China Frontline Song and Dance Troupe and the Shanghai Chinese Orchestra. Performed in other places and was well received. In his career in music and art over the years, in addition to performing, he has also composed more than ten pieces of Erhu music, as well as two operetta music and dance music. In the creation of erhu, such as "Minjiang River", "Seeing each other", "Shepherdess", "Spring Tour to Taihu Lake", "Motherland - My Cradle", "Happy Boys", "Spring Rhyme", "Golden Autumn in Turpan" Other works won the first and second prizes and the Outstanding Creation Award in the music competitions. Most of the above works have been published by China Music Publishing House and Shanghai Music Literature and Art Publishing House. In 1984, the dance music "Mushroom Picking" won the Music Creation Excellence Award of the Ministry of General Affairs and Culture. During his time with the Shanghai Chinese Orchestra, he participated in the first and second Jiangnan Silk and Bamboo Competitions at home and abroad, and won the first and second prizes.
In 1998, he was awarded the "Shuangxin of Virtue and Art" by the Shanghai Musicians Association.
In the erhu teaching, more than 30 erhu music talents have been sent to music schools and literary and art units. On September 6, 1994, he and his elder brother, Mr. Cao Yuanlong, successfully held a special concert to report on the achievements of Erhu teaching in Shanghai, which was well received.
