At the age of 6, he began to learn Erhu under the guidance of Mr. Liu Yi'an. In 1984, he was admitted to the primary school attached to the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, and in 1987, he was promoted to the affiliated high school of the college. Under the tutelage of Professor Wang Yongde, the director of the Folk Music Department of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and a famous erhu educator. During the school, he studied diligently and achieved excellent results in various subjects. He has won previous scholarships and won the first prize of Fu Chengxian Scholarship. In 1997, he graduated from the Folk Music Department of Shanghai Conservatory of Music with the highest score in his major. In 1982, he participated in the "National Children's National Instrumental Music Competition" and won the silver medal. In 1991, he participated in the "Shanghai Spring National Erhu Competition" and won the third place in the professional group (becoming the youngest winner at that time). In 1996, the "Silk String Quintet" she participated in won the first prize in the professional group of the National College Student Art Show. He has been invited to visit more than 20 countries and regions in Europe, Asia, America, Africa and Oceania.
