Introduction to Fan Shange(guzheng)Master performer

Fan Shange, born in 1942, is a native of Shanghai. Guzheng player, national first-class player, member of China Musicians Association, member of China Film Association.

In 1954, he was admitted to the High School Attached to Shanghai Conservatory of Music to study piano. She switched to guzheng in 1958 and was admitted to the guzheng major of the folk music department of Shanghai Conservatory of Music in 1961. In July 1992, she immigrated to Canada and founded the "Fan Shang'e Guzheng Academy".

In 1954, he was admitted to the High School Attached to Shanghai Conservatory of Music to study piano.

At that time, the government called for the "nationalization" of music. She switched to guzheng in 1958, and was admitted to the Shanghai Conservatory of Music's Department of Folk Music in 1961, majoring in guzheng. She studied under the famous "Zhejiang School" representative Wang Xunzhi, Cao Zheng and Guo Ying and other guzheng masters, and worked hard to systematically study the zheng music of various schools.

After graduating in 1966, he was assigned to the Beijing Film Orchestra as a guzheng player. After encountering the Cultural Revolution, he was decentralised and transformed with the orchestra. It was not until 1973 that he was recalled to Beijing under the care of Zhou Enlai and began to score some movies.

In 1981, she attended the "Asian Composers Conference and Music Festival" held in Hong Kong, and performed China's first guzheng concerto "Miluo River Fantasia" with the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra at the opening ceremony. Her perfect interpretation was received by the audience. Appreciation of musicians from all over Asia.

In 1986, he published the paper "The Problem of Timbre in Guzheng Playing" in the magazine "Chinese Music".

In 1987, she participated in the "Young Chinese Music Week" lectures and performances as a music master invited by the Hong Kong Music Affairs Office.

In 1989, he served as a judge and a member of the art committee of the "ART Chinese Musical Instrument International Competition". In 1990, he moved overseas and was a visiting scholar at Northeastern Illinois University in the United States until 1992, during which he held many solo concerts.

In 1993, 1994, 1999 and 2002, four guzheng solo concerts were held respectively, which were unprecedented and received rave reviews.

In July 1992, she immigrated to Canada and founded the "Fan Shang'e Guzheng Academy". Lives in Scarborough, Toronto.

In 1996, she was invited to Taiwan to participate in the "Chinese, Japanese, and Korean Zheng Art Show" at the Taipei Art Festival. She was the representative of Chinese zheng and was warmly welcomed.

In 2006, he also participated in the Guzheng Festival in Hong Kong, as a guest performer in the "Desert Martial Arts" project, and the response was enthusiastic.
