Feng Shaoxian, a Yueqin player. Born in December 1939 in a primary school teacher's family in Hailun County, Heilongjiang Province. Heilongjiang Song and Dance Theater Yueqin performer. National first-class performer, member of China Musicians Association, director of China National Orchestra Association, vice chairman of Heilongjiang Musicians Association, and vice chairman of Heilongjiang National Orchestra Association.
In 1953, he was admitted to the Pingju Troupe of Hailun County, mainly engaged in Peking Opera accompaniment, and learned various musical instruments of traditional Peking Opera: Peking Opera Huqin (Jinghu), Peking Opera Erhu (Jingerhu), Peking Opera Sanxian, Peking Opera Yueqin, Suona, Dizi and other Peking Opera percussion musical instrument.
After 1957, he was admitted to the Harbin Song and Dance Troupe (now Heilongjiang Song and Dance Theater), where he studied and played modern folk music, and served as an erhu solo performer.
In 1958, he went to Harbin Academy of Arts to study Huqin under the tutelage of Professor Zhang Jirang. It was also in this year that Feng Shaoxian reformed the Peking Opera Yueqin into a modern Yueqin that conforms to 12 equal temperaments and has a range of 4 8 degrees.
In 1959, Feng Shaoxian was promoted to the principal of the orchestra.
Since the 1950s, he has studied the reform of the Yueqin and achieved success. The original Yueqin has widened the range of sounds, arranged the frets according to the twelve equal temperaments, and invented a variety of performance techniques, which enriched and improved the musical expression of the Yueqin. The modern Yueqin reformed by Feng Shaoxian has different tunings for each string, and the number of items (lattice) is also greatly increased, and the range reaches 4 8 degrees, which is very wide; Feng Shaoxian also cooperated with many composers and produced many Yueqin concertos. And Yueqin solo, let Yueqin as a solo instrument on the stage of many concert halls and large-scale concerts in China and overseas, the University's Department of Music also opened a Yueqin major (the major is the group or major under the Taiwan Department of Studies).
