Introduction to Gao Zherui(guzheng)Master performer,composer

Gao Zherui, courtesy name Yanen, (1920-1980) was born in Chenghai County, Changdong Province. He studied under Li School (Li Jiating), the descendants of Chaozhou zheng, She Yonghong and Mr. Hong Ruyan. Caoman has been practicing for decades, in addition to improving his performance skills, he also has unique research on ethnic music theory. In his later years, he compiled the book "Chaozhou Zheng Playing Method", which comprehensively introduced the characteristics of Chaozhou Zheng and its evolution process, and created many etudes by himself.

After liberation, Mr. Xuanhu went to see a doctor. He abides by the ancient sayings that "a doctor must have the benevolence of a longevity and a living person". Every winter and spring, asthma attacks, bedridden often, in the sickbed, a simple bed, a small room of several square meters competes to become a "three-purpose office and a child's defecation place" (Mr. jokes).

He has no perspective in his studies, and he does not stand still. Flowers, plants, insects and fish are used for all purposes. The medicines are cheap and serve the public. Therefore, they are trusted by patients, and are well-known in the Chaoshan Plain.

The husband is a doctor for a living, and still regards the zheng as his second life. After diagnosis, it is tuning and playing. Master Yu and Hong's technique, combined with their own temperament, deliberately pursued and gradually formed a delicate, smooth, and emotionally deepened playing style.

He is rigorous in his studies and has an open mind. He often invites colleagues in the music industry to listen to the zheng comments. During holidays, step out of the house, seek teachers and friends, and study zheng art. In 1957, Mr. Cao Zheng, a famous guzheng master, heard in the north. To make friends with the world's zheng people, that is, to repair a book and recommend it. The letter was removed for two months before it arrived in the hands of Cao Lao. Since then, Hongyan, a zheng person from the North and South, has been teasing and discussing zheng music.

In 1962, Professor Cao Zheng went south and had fun with his husband in Chenghai, Jieyang and other places. Cao Lao was moved by his research spirit. While discussing Guzheng and Chao music with him, he helped him to improve his theoretical level, which made him leap to a new level in both performance skills and theoretical research.

During the Cultural Revolution, Mr. was attacked, and was listed as a typical example of Feng Zixiu, and he was listed on the street to criticize and fight. In the face of adversity, the husband still did not give up his persistent pursuit of the guzheng career. When he returned home, he put the brand aside and continued to play the strings. When playing the "Oriole Ci" by Mingming Siyou, I often communicate with tears and tears.

The 1970s was a period of great success for Mr. In recognition of his outstanding contributions in medicine, the regional and county governments awarded him the honorable title of "Famous Old Chinese Medicine". Many of his medical papers have been published in newspapers and magazines, and have been compiled into volumes. He presided over the pediatrics teaching of Tinghai County Traditional Chinese Medicine Class and Barefoot Doctor Training Class. In terms of guzheng, Mr. has conducted various researches on the development of guzheng and the reform of Chaozheng. Seeing that the right-hand skills in the guzheng world are becoming more and more complicated, while the left-hand pressing gradually fades, so I shouted: "Zheng is a semi-fixed scale instrument, and it is good at pressing." Author "A Brief Talk on Qin Zheng's Rhythm Complementary Voice" , the importance of pressing the left hand on the sound; Mr. is not a conservative, the inheritance of the tradition is based on the purpose of "preserving the essence and abandoning the old". He objected to the traditional "tempo three changes" playing mode of Chao music, and believed that the playing method of Chao music from slow to fast to urging and ending was the same. Here, in line with the principle that technology serves the music, the Chaozheng music score has been rearranged. The music is like three boards. If the copying does not match the tune and atmosphere, it will be deleted. He felt that Chaozheng lacked a complete theoretical monograph. With the strong support of Professor Cao Zheng, he compiled and compiled the book "The Method of Chaozheng Playing" based on decades of amateur practice. The book comprehensively introduces the characteristics and evolution of Chaozhou guzheng; emphasizes on the techniques of Chaozhou zheng; includes 21 self-composed etudes for performance methods, 36 Chaozhou zheng songs and Han tune zheng songs, and explains the music one by one. refer to. After that, the scattered theoretical articles were combined into "Chaozheng Zadan". In 1972, he composed the Chaozhou modern zheng piece "Autumn Flood in the South China Sea", and made a useful attempt in combining traditional performance techniques with modern harmony and playing with both hands.

The gentleman devoted himself to the cause of guzheng and died. As Mr. practiced medicine, guzheng research was limited to his spare time. In order to write "The Method of Playing the Chaozheng" and other works, he often sat at his desk until late at night, lying on his face when he was tired, and when he woke up, he wrote quickly until dawn. In April 1980, Mr. was admitted to the hospital with terminal cancer. He had a premonition that his life would be short, so he endured the pain and recorded the last voice left to the world in his sickbed. . I couldn't help but burst into tears and couldn't help crying.

Mr. died unfortunately on April 30, 1980 at the age of 60. On the day of the funeral, people from all walks of life in Chenghai spontaneously saw him off. The funeral procession stretched hundreds of meters to express people's infinite admiration for this famous Chengyi celebrity who was also a doctor and a zheng. and miss.
