Introduction to Guan Pinghu(guqin)Master performer

Guan Pinghu (1897~1967), named Ping, styled Ji'an, Zhongkang, and No. Pinghu, claimed to be a layman. His ancestral home was Suzhou, Jiangsu. The son of Guan Nianci, a famous painter in the Qing Dynasty.

He studied painting and playing the piano with his father since he was a child. After he lost his father at a young age, he pursued a wide range of arts and took Yang Zongji as his teacher. He studied flowers and figures under the tutelage of Jin Shaocheng, a famous painter. He was one of the main members of the "Lake Society" painting association, and later taught at the Beijing Jinghua Academy of Fine Arts.

Mr. Guan has superb piano skills, and has received the true biography of famous pianists such as Yang Zongji, the "Wuyi School" Wu Cheng, and the "Chuan School" Qin Heming. , became a family of its own, and formed a "guan school" with an important position in the modern Chinese piano scene; when he returned to Suzhou to visit Tianping Mountain at the age of 28, he was fortunate to meet the master Wucheng monk, who was instructed by Wucheng, and his piano skills advanced greatly; He also learned the Sichuan-style "Flowing Water" from Taoist Qin Heming in Shandong, and has since become famous.
