Guo Minqing, a famous dulcimer and educator, former associate professor of Shanghai Conservatory of Music, has been teaching and performing dulcimer for 30 years. From 1985 to 1986, he successfully held special teaching concerts in Beijing and Shanghai.
Guo Minqing is active in domestic and international music circles. He has visited Yugoslavia, Japan, Belgium, Singapore, Taiwan and other countries and regions to perform and give lectures. Between 1990 and 1992, he went to the United States to perform and give lectures twice, and held a personal dulcimer recital at the University of California. to gain praise. In addition to teaching and performing, she also wrote unconscious dulcimer repertoires. The solo "Festival Tianshan" arranged by her was widely used in domestic and international concerts and competitions, becoming one of the influential dulcimer works in the 1980s.
Together with Mr. Hong Shengmao, she has contributed to the establishment of the teaching system of the dulcimer at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and the reform of the 81-type twelve well-tempered dulcimer. She has twice won the "Teaching Excellence Award" and the "Art Performance Excellence Award" from the Conservatory of Music.
