Introduction to Hao Yuqi(suona)Master performer,composer

Hao Yuqi is from Anyang City, Henan Province. Member of the Communist Party of China, a famous suona player, currently a first-class performer of Henan Song and Dance Theater, vice chairman of the Provincial Music Association, and member of the Provincial Political Consultative Conference. He has been rated as an advanced worker, a five-good league member, a red flag bearer, and an outstanding party member for many times. Named as an excellent expert by the provincial party committee and the provincial government, he enjoys special government allowances.

Hao Yuqi has been learning sheng, flute, suona and other national musical instruments with his father since he was a child. At the age of 12, the foreman performed the art. Under his father's strict teaching, his playing and singing skills were praised by his peers. He is studious, study hard, inherit and carry forward the tradition of national music, and his performance is deeply loved by the audience. In the spring of 1957, the 15-year-old Hao Yuqi participated in the folk music and dance performances in Henan and the whole country. His performance of "Family Portrait" was well received by the audience in the provincial capital and the capital. As one of the representatives of folk artists, he was cordially received by party and state leaders Liu Shaoqi and Zhou Enlai. After the performance, he was left as a solo performer in the Henan Song and Dance Troupe, and began his stage career. In the long-term artistic practice, he has formed a unique style of playing Hao School. Since 1965, he has visited Vietnam, the United States, Japan, Singapore, South Korea with the Central Orchestra, China Song and Dance Troupe, China Art Troupe and Henan Provincial Art Troupe, etc. Kenya, Madagascar, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Algeria and other countries and Hong Kong and Macau. In 1989, he gave lectures in Hong Kong and held a solo suona concert. He played and organized more than 100 works, such as "Hundred Birds Chaofeng", "Family Portrait", "Xiaolangdi Imagination", etc. In 1995, he participated in the performance of "Spring Comes to the River to Welcome the New Year" in Singapore. It was praised by Premier Zhou Enlai and other state leaders. During his stay in the United States, he was received by President Carter and highly appreciated by the "Three Western Newspapers".

Hao Yuqi has broadened his cultural horizons and increased his artistic talents by visiting and performing abroad many times and performing on the same stage with artists from national-level literary and art groups. He has recorded and published a variety of personal albums and interviews for more than 20 domestic and foreign radio stations, television stations, record clubs, and audio-visual clubs, such as 8 pieces of "Hao Yuqi's Punta Solo" and 18 tape albums such as "A Hundred Birds Facing the Phoenix". The professional papers published "On the Pronunciation Control of Suona", "On the Style of Suona in Henan and Shandong", and "My View on Suona Playing and Breathing" have been well received. Among them, "My View of Suona Playing and Breathing" participated in the Zhongzhou Musicology Paper Award and was awarded the first prize. He also edited and edited personal monographs such as "Selected Songs of Hao Yuqi" and "How to Play Suona". Collecting more than 40 years of performance career and theoretical exploration, it has laid the foundation for the formation and development of the Henan Suona genre, and has won high praise from people at home and abroad.

In 1990, he was named an outstanding expert in provincial management by the People's Government of Henan Province and enjoys special government allowances. Won the title of top performer of the National Ministry of Culture. He is currently a national first-class actor, honorary director of the Chinese National Orchestra Society, and vice-chairman of the Henan Musicians Association. He was a member of the 4th to 7th Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
