Introduction to Hou Changqing(dizi)Master performer

Hou Changqing, deputy secretary general of bamboo flute Professional Committee of China National Orchestra Society, was born in Baotou City, Inner Mongolia.

Born in Baotou City, Inner Mongolia, he learned the flute with his father at the age of 8. At the age of 12, he was admitted to Baotou Art School and studied under the flute player Li Zhen. In 1989, he graduated and was assigned to Baotou Manhan Troupe as a flute soloist. After hard and serious practice, he was admitted to the bamboo flute major of the Traditional Music Department of the Central Conservatory of Music with excellent results in 1994, and has been taught by Professor Jiang Zhichao, Professor Zeng Yongqing, a flute master of the Northern school, and Professor Dai Ya, a famous flute player.
