Introduction to Jiang Jianhua(erhu)Master performer

Jiang Jianhua, born in Shanghai, is an erhu player, professor and postgraduate tutor of the Central Conservatory of Music.

When I was 10 years old, I started to learn Erhu with my uncle. In 1974, he was admitted to the High School Attached to the Central Conservatory of Music. In 1978, when Japanese conductor Seiji Ozawa visited China, he was moved by the erhu solo "Erquan Reflecting the Moon" played by 17-year-old Jiang Jianhua. In 1979, he was admitted to the Central Conservatory of Music with honors and studied under An Ruli, Lan Yusong, Liu Mingyuan, etc. In the summer of the same year, he followed the Central Conservatory of Music band to visit and perform in the UK, Iraq, the Middle East and North Africa.

In 1980, together with Liu Dehai, Han Zhongjie, etc., at the invitation of conductor Seiji Ozawa, he went to the United States to participate in the Tanglewood Music Festival, and cooperated with Seiji Ozawa and the Boston Symphony Orchestra as a soloist, presenting the erhu and orchestra work "Jianghe" Water" and "Days of Turning Over",

In 1982, he won the best award in the National National Instrumental Music Competition. In 1983, he graduated from the Folk Music Department of the Central Conservatory of Music, and stayed at the school as a performer and teaching work of the Shiyan Orchestra.

In 2007, he returned to his alma mater, the Central Conservatory of Music, as a professor after a long absence. In 2008, when the National Centre for the Performing Arts of China was inaugurated, in the Beijing New Year's Concert held by Seiji Ozawa, he performed "Song of Shili Dun" with the National Symphony Orchestra of China.

In 2019, he performed a series of Baroque works with the Canticum Novum Ancient Ensemble in South Africa at the "Fever Days" festival in Tokyo. In July 2021, in the "Xian Yun Chinese and Western" concert at the National Centre for the Performing Arts, perform Chinese erhu solo pieces "Erquan Reflecting the Moon", "Empty Mountain Birds", Japanese melody "A Drop of the River", and Western "Carmen Fantasia" " and other works.
