Li Jia started learning Pipa at the age of 6 and was admitted to the Primary School Attached to the Shanghai Conservatory of Music in 1990. In 1993, he was promoted to the High School Affiliated to Shanghai Conservatory of Music, and successively studied under Qian Tiejun, Zhou Lijuan, Yin Rongzhu, Zhang Tie, Zhang Zupei, Yang Wei, Zhou Tao and other teachers. In 1999, he was admitted to the China Conservatory of Music with excellent grades, and continued his studies with the famous pipa master, Professor Liu Dehai.
He has successfully held three solo recitals in 1998, 2002 and 2006. From 2001 to 2005, he followed Professor Liu Dehai to hold a series of tour concerts "Pipa Master Liu Dehai's 50th Anniversary" and "Pipa Master Liu Dehai and His Three Disciples" in the Mainland, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. In 2002, he participated in the "presènces 2002" modern music festival of French national radio station, and cooperated with the French National Symphony Orchestra and conductor Tang Muhai, and played the pipa solo in the world premiere of Chen Qigang's new work "Butterfly Loves Flowers". Later, he cooperated with the famous conductor Yu Long to participate in many world tours of "Butterfly Loves Flowers". The orchestras include the French National Symphony Orchestra, the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra, the German Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, the China Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Beijing Symphony Orchestra. Orchestra, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, etc., and have traveled to concert halls such as the Champs-Elysées in Paris, the Amsterdam Concert Hall in the Netherlands, and the Sydney Opera House.
He collaborated with conductor Tang Muhai in the 5th Beijing International Music Festival and the 4th Shanghai International Arts Festival, and successively performed "Butterfly Love" with the China Philharmonic Orchestra and the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra in Beijing Poly Theater and Shanghai Grand Theater. flower". In cooperation with conductor Peng Jiapeng and the "China Radio Chinese Orchestra", the premiere of Mr. Quan Jihao's new pipa concerto "Impression of Peking Opera" in the mainland. Recorded the pipa soundtrack for the movie "The Thirteen Hairpins of Jinling".
