Ruan Sheng is the principal of the Shanghai Chinese Orchestra, a national first-class performer, and a visiting professor at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. He is currently the vice-chairman of the China Ruan Professional Committee. The first Ruan major student at Shanghai Conservatory of Music. He has won the "Literary Corolla • Newcomer" award at the Shanghai '90 International Arts Festival; the performance award of the 14th, 15th and 17th "Shanghai Spring" Music Festivals; the first place in the Ruan group of the "International Folk Instrumental Solo Competition" ; Shanghai Baosteel Elegant Art Performance Award and other awards.
He has recorded solo albums such as "The Night of Torch Festival", "Ding Ding Dong", "Liu Bo and the Symphony", as well as the teaching vcd of "Playing Zhongruan". He premiered Zhongruan's concerto and several solo pieces such as "Lin'an Regret", "Poems of Voices Outside the Great Wall" and "Anima Qingshan".
He has visited Germany, France, Belgium, Malaysia, Taiwan, Hong Kong and other countries and regions, especially at the Vienna Golden Hall in 2001, Ruan's solo "Camel Bells on the Silk Road" caused a sensation. Liu Bo's outstanding musical sense, deep, delicate, and infectious performance has played an exemplary role in the popularization and improvement of Ruan's musical instruments.

Ruan (Ruan Xian) (Pinyin: Ruǎn), short for Ruan Xian. It is a traditional plucked musical instrument of the Han nationality, also known as Ruan Xian and Ruan Qin. In ancient times, it was called Qin Pipa. Later, because of the introduction of Quxiang Pipa, the name "Pipa" was occupied, and it was named after Ruan Xian, who was good at playing this instrument.
