Shen Haochu (1889-1953) was a passer-by from the Huang family in Shanghai. The fourth-generation descendant of the Pudong School Pipa is also an ancestral TCM physician with excellent medical skills and high medical ethics. He also studied ancient literature and art, and authored 16 volumes of "Yuanren Yuefu Annotations". But Shen Haochu's highest achievement is his pipa art and theory. Mr. Lin Shicheng, a well-known master pipa player, is his disciple.

He is a descendant of the Ju School Pipa/Pudong School Pipa. He is the author of "Yangzhengxuan Pipa Score", which was published by the People's Music Publishing House in 1983.

In addition to pipa monographs, Shen Haochu also organized and taught some famous traditional pipa music. Seriously preserve the effective performance techniques of the past dynasties. In the early Qing Dynasty, Pipa was divided into two schools: the southern school and the northern school. In the middle of the Qing Dynasty, the southern school was divided into Pudong school, Pinghu school, Chongming school and other schools, and Shen Jiechu was the representative of the Pudong school.

In order not to lose the pipa skills of the Pudong School, Shen Jiechu compiled the "Yangzhengxuan Pipa Score", in addition to expounding the essentials of the playing method, the content and meaning of the music in simple language, the writing of the music score is particularly fine. The creative attitude is very rigorous.

Shen Haochu was an upright person. He often said: "In my life, I should do more things, write more books, and leave something useful for future generations after death." He used his writings to fulfill his promise.

Yangzhengxuan Pipa Score, first edited by Shen Hao, was published in 1926. Before the score, a more detailed introduction was made to the recorded music and the Pudong school's playing fingerings. In the preface, there are some comments on the too simple notation of "Hua Qiuping Pipa Pu" and the complicated flower fingering in "Li Fangyuan Pipa Pu", thinking that "Hua Qiuping is the first work for the world, but there are not many large songs, and the fingering It is quite simple, and then Pinghu Li Fangyuan collected thirteen sets of music, which are broad and wide, and the Naihua finger is multiplied, and the true face of Lushan is lost. Xuan Pipa Score is more detailed and accurate than these two scores.
