Shi Haibin, born on July 1, 1975, is a famous suona performer, a postgraduate tutor of the Central Conservatory of Music, the secretary of the Party branch of the Central Conservatory of Music and the director of the Folk Music Teaching and Research Section.

In 1989, he was admitted to Shanxi Opera School to study Shanxi Opera music and suona performance art. In 1994, he was admitted to the Department of Folk Music of the Central Conservatory of Music for an undergraduate degree, under the tutelage of Professor Chen Jiaqi, a famous suona educator.

During this period, he has received careful guidance from many famous suona and guanzi educators and performers, such as Ren Tongxiang, Liu Bingchen, Wang Gaolin, Guo Yazhi, Hu Zhihou, etc.

He has won many awards in various performance competitions. In 1998, he was awarded the title of outstanding graduate by the Ministry of Culture, and he stayed at the school to teach in the same year.

He is also the executive vice president and secretary general of the Suona Professional Committee of the Chinese National Orchestra Society, and the deputy secretary general of the Chinese Musicians Association National Wind Music Research Association.

In recent years, he has devoted himself to diligent study and careful exploration, and constantly taps the inherent potential of the instrument to enhance the cultural connotation of the major and further make suona teaching scientific and standardized.
