Introduction to Su Wenxian(guzheng)Master performer

Su Wenxian was born on December 1, 1907 in Chaozhou, Guangdong, and died on August 11, 1971. He is a master of Chaole music and a master of guzheng of the Southern School, and is known as the "Sage of Qin". When living in Thailand from 1926 to 1938, he successively studied Pipa and Guzheng playing skills from Chaozhou musicians Xie Shaopu and Wang Zeru, and became a famous Chao music master at that time, known as "Pipa Su". During this period, he often participated in performances organized by overseas Chinese in Thailand, performing Teochew ensembles and zheng solos. The zheng tunes passed on have been sorted into Chaozhou zheng tunes by later generations.

Since the 1980s, Su Qiaozheng and Chen Tianguo, whose descendants taught at Guangzhou Xinghai Conservatory of Music, cooperated with the city drummer Chen Zhenxi to publish the book "Chaozhou Big Gong and Drum", which was recorded with the staff for the first time, and founded various Species of gongs and drums recorded, spread Chaozhou gongs and drums at home and abroad.

After that, Chen Tianguo (professor of the Conservatory of Music) published "Chaozhou Zen and Ban"; after Su Qiaozheng settled in Hong Kong, he published "Chaozhou Zhengyi", which includes research on Chaozhou string poetry and Chaozhou "two or four score" paper. It can be said that the fire is passed down from generation to generation.

Su Wenxian has made indelible contributions to the inheritance, dissemination and development of Chaozhou music. On December 3, 1997, the Xinghai Conservatory of Music, the Guangdong Musicians Association, and the Guangdong Music Research Institute jointly held the "90th Anniversary of the Birth of Famous Chaozhou Musician Mr. Su Wenxian", in recognition of Su Wenxian's contribution to Chaozhou music during his lifetime Gives a high rating.
