Introduction to Sun Zhuo(guzheng)Master performer

Sun Zhuo, born in 1976 in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, is a guzheng player. Since childhood, he has studied Guzheng with his mother, Qu Yun, who is a famous guzheng player, a representative of the Qinzheng genre, and known as a national player. Not only has he mastered the style of the Qin School, but also has a solid foundation for other styles of the Northern School.

In 1988, he was admitted to the High School Affiliated to Xi'an Conservatory of Music. In 1989, he won the third prize in the Junior Professional Group of the "ART" Cup Chinese Musical Instrument International Competition. Performance.

In 1994, he was admitted to the Central Conservatory of Music with excellent grades and studied under the famous guzheng performer and educator Professor Li Meng.

He received a bachelor's degree in 1998 and was admitted to the Graduate School of the Central Conservatory of Music.

In July 2001 received a master's degree. In October 2005, she held a special concert of Chinese music at the Wormax International Music Festival in Seville, Spain, and in October 2006, she held a special concert of "Masters of Chinese Music" with Liu Dehai and Qu Yun in Xi'an Zhongnan Concert Hall.

In 2007, Chen Xiaoyong performed Chen Xiaoyong's zheng and the modern chamber music work "Shen Shen" at the Hamburg Modern Music Festival in Germany.

From 2004 to 2011, he worked at the University of London, Cambridge University, University of Sheffield, London Asia Center, Royal Academy of Arts, London Royal Academy of Music, London Royal Opera House, Royal South Bank Concert Hall, British Foreign Office, Chinese Embassy in London, He has held concerts and solo recitals at the Edinburgh International Arts Festival, etc., and cooperated with the China Youth National Orchestra, the Xi'an Conservatory of Music Chinese Orchestra, the University of Sheffield Modern Orchestra, the London Orchestra, and the German Modern Chamber Orchestra.

In 2004, Sun Zhuo went to study in London, UK. In 2005, he studied at the Department of Music, SOAS, University of London, where he studied for a doctorate and taught Chinese zheng performance. In 2011, he returned to China with a Ph.D. with excellent grades and is currently teaching at the School of Music of Shaanxi Normal University.

Sun Zhuo has studied various styles of zheng music extensively, and has mastered more modern zheng tunes and techniques. He is a leader among the younger generation of zheng masters.
