The Suzhou National Orchestra is a municipal professional orchestra jointly established by Suzhou City and the High-tech Zone. The famous conductor Peng Jiapeng is the artistic director and chief conductor, and the famous erhu performer and composer Zhu Changyao is the artistic director. Cheng Congwu, the first-level art supervisor, was appointed as a consultant. The orchestra hired famous composers Zhao Jiping, Liu Xijin, Gu Guanren and folk music activist Wang Shuwei as art consultants.
