In terms of national musical instruments, our country has already transformed the existing musical instruments based on the aesthetics of Western music. In terms of traditional music, the mainstream music industry has also adapted most of the traditional music by Western music composition methods, without retaining the original appearance of the ancient times. The same is true of traditional dance in our country. In other words, most Chinese people's cognition and aesthetics of traditional Chinese music and dance are based on the aesthetics of Western standards. As a result, various prejudices and misunderstandings have arisen, and the original appearance of music and dance in the past dynasties of China has basically disappeared.
Confucius said, "Look for the wild when the etiquette is lost", and "review the old and learn the new". The Tang Dynasty was the most brilliant cultural era in Chinese history, and its musical and dance achievements reached its climax with the prosperity of Emperor Xuanzong's Kaiyuan era. The Tang Dynasty Ritual and Music Restoration Group aims to conduct a comprehensive research, restoration and performance of the Tang Dynasty court music and dance, so that more people today can see the original appearance of ancient Chinese traditional music and dance a thousand years ago.
