Mr. Tian Kejian is a member of the Chinese Musicians Association, the vice president of the Yangqin Research Association of the Chinese Music Association, a director of the Beijing Musical Instrument Popularization Association, and a director of the Chinese National Orchestra Society; a national first-class dulcimer performer of the Chinese Song and Dance Troupe, and an outstanding Chinese dulcimer master.
In 1982, he was granted special allowances and certificates for political recognition by the State Council.
After the reform of dulcimer, he was the first Chinese dulcimer to perform dulcimer solo on foreign stages on behalf of the country and achieved great success. He has been nominated as a solo dulcimer in state galas held for visiting foreign heads for many times, and he is the only person in the Chinese dulcimer field to play such an important role. He has served as the chief dulcimer in the large-scale national orchestral performances organized by major domestic events.
In 1982 was named top actor. Mr. Tian Kejian's successful performance on the stage has made outstanding contributions to the upgrading of the dulcimer instrument to a solo instrument.
In 1975, he successfully developed the "Dongqin Double Step-Type Taiwan Damper", which was widely praised.
In 1980, after the dulcimer piece "Dragon Boat" won the award, in 1992, he won the second prize for creation by the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Radio and Television.
This piece was listed as a key piece in the International Chamber Music Grand Prix held in Daigu, Japan in 1993, and it was successful again.
Since 1996, he has served as a judge for the qualification examination for actors of the academies directly under the Ministry of Culture. In 2001, he went to Hong Kong on behalf of the mainland to participate in the "National Treasures - Chinese Music Masters Concert", and in 2002, he went to Taiwan to participate in the "Night of National Treasures and Famous Artists" concert, which was deeply loved by audiences in both places.
In 2003, he went to Japan to participate in the "China National Treasure Orchestra" performance in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the conclusion of the Sino-Japanese Friendship Treaty.
Mr. Tian Kejian has loved the music and art of the motherland all his life. His solid basic skills, rich music theory skills, strong dedication to professionalism and musically beautiful personality have created an older generation of artists who are "virtuous and artistic"! It has set an indelible shining example for the Chinese dulcimer circle, the Chinese folk music circle and even the Chinese literature and art circle!
