Wang Hongtao, born in Gaotang, Shandong in October 1960, is a national first-class performer, a famous flute player and xunxiao player. In 1985, Wang Hongtao obtained a bachelor's degree with honors, and later joined the Chinese Orchestra of Shandong Song and Dance Theater as a flute and xunxiao player. His flute and bau are also very good. A solid theoretical foundation and a large number of stage performance practices have further optimized his performance art. Wang Hongtao has been the soloist and lead performer for flute and xunxiao for a long time in the performance. The solo repertoire includes "Orchid in Spring", "Yihe Joyful Song", "Longing", "Partridge Flying", "Three Five Seven", "Autumn Lake" Moonlit Night", "Water Township Boat Song", "Flying Bumblebee", "Skylark" and other works.
In 1990, Wang Hongtao won the first prize in the instrumental music professional group in the Young Actor Competition of the Shandong Provincial Art Performance Academy.
Since 1984, Wang Hongtao's demonstration performance cassettes (in cooperation with others) recorded for professional flute courses such as "Selected Dizi Etude", as well as his own creation and adaptation of instrumental works, have been officially published by the People's Music Publishing House.
