Wang Yinrui, percussionist, principal of the percussion section of the Shanghai Chinese Orchestra, member of the Shanghai Municipal Political Consultative Conference, winner of the Shanghai Youth May 4th Medal, winner of the Shanghai Literature and Art Award Young Artist Training Program, percussionist of the Chinese National Orchestra Society Director of the Professional Committee, Director of the Shanghai Percussion Association.
Born in a musical family, he loved music since childhood, and received very good music influence and strict artistic training. He began to learn piano at the age of three, oboe at the age of ten, and then studied percussion under Professor Yang Ruwen of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. He has visited France, Ireland, Singapore, South Korea, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and other countries and regions for many times.
In 2001, he was admitted to the Shanghai Conservatory of Music with honors. In 2003, he won the third prize of the 3rd Longyin Folk Music Scholarship Competition. In the same year, his performance "Farewell to Shadows" won the second prize in the first TMSK Liu Tianhua Award Chinese Folk Music Chamber Music Competition (the first prize is vacant). In 2005, his performance "Thinking" won the Excellence Award in the 2nd TMSK Liu Tianhua Award Chinese Folk Music Chamber Music Competition. In 2008, the performance of Zhang Xuru's "Tupi Fu" won the second prize and the first prize of the second national music and art college percussion ensemble works and performance competition works. During the school, he won the People's Scholarship, and served as the head of the percussion section and the head of the percussion section of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music Youth Orchestra. He has participated in the "2004 China-Ireland Art Festival", the French "38 Degrees Lion's Roar" art festival, the movie "Night Banquet", the 2006 Shanghai International Music Summit Forum Tan Dun's "Qin Shi Huang" opera original workshop, "Tan Dun and Zhang Yimou face to face in time and space" Master class, 2006 Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit, 2007 World Summer Special Olympics Opening Ceremony and a series of important performances. In December 2017, he was elected as a member of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the 13th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. In May 2018, he won the Shanghai Youth May Fourth Medal. In October 2019, he was selected into the "Shanghai Literature and Art Award", the highest award in Shanghai literature and art circles, for the training program for young writers and artists.
He is skilled in playing technique, has a strong grasp of music, and has rich timbre changes; his style is warm and unrestrained, but yet delicate and soft; his typhoon is elegant and easily infects the audience; he also learns to compose while penetrating all kinds of Chinese and Western percussion instruments. Knowledge, strive to fully understand each work, and perform secondary creation while expressing the essence of the work.
He was hailed by the media as "a very talented and energetic percussionist".
