Wang Yu is a sanxian performer of the China Broadcasting Art Troupe, the vice chairman of the Sanxian Professional Committee of the Chinese Nationalities Orchestra Society, a director of the Chinese Nationalities Orchestra Society, a director of the Chinese Drama Literature Society, and a member of the Chinese Musicians Association.
In 1999, he was admitted to the Beijing Opera Department of the Middle School Attached to the China Academy of Drama. In 2005, he was admitted to the Folk Music Department of the Central Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of Professor Tan Longjian. In 2009, he joined the China Broadcasting Chinese Orchestra. In 2012, he won the "Wenhua Award" performance gold award. In 2013, he obtained a Master of Arts degree from the Central Conservatory of Music. In 2018, he was employed as a professional teacher of Sanxian at the Central Conservatory of Music. In 2019, he was employed as a professional teacher of Sanxian in the School of Music of Minzu University of China and the Middle School Affiliated to China Academy of Opera. He has performed in cooperation with more than 40 academies at home and abroad, held more than ten concerts and recitals, published many books and albums, and served as the main creator of national key art projects. Representative works: Published monographs "Learning Sanxian from Scratch", "The Musical Score of Daxiangguo Temple Musician", "Peking Opera Sanxian Grade Examination Textbook" (associate editor), "Chinese Music Encyclopedia • Sanxian Volume" (Editorial Committee), "Social Art of China National Orchestra Society" Sanxian Grade Examination Textbook (Editorial Committee); published performance albums "Wind Change" and "Shuttle"; composed music "Hutong Impression", "Night Wind", "Afternoon Black Tea"; composed music for stage play "The Wind Blows the Water Surface Waves" and "Beijing Neighbors" ”, “The Red Vest”, “The Cowardly Artist”, “One Hundred Years of Art in the Sea”; created more than 40 movies and TV dramas such as “The Alley Butler” and “Alien No. 1”.
