Xinyi Chinese Chamber Orchestra was established in September 2005 by Shanghai National Music Instrument No. 1 Factory Co., Ltd. It is the only professional Chinese chamber orchestra in Shanghai. It was renamed in 2012 and has been in use since then. All members of the orchestra graduated from Shanghai Conservatory of Music with solid professional skills. and a wealth of performance experience.
In 2011, the orchestra went to Uzbekistan to participate in the "Eastern Rhyme" International Music Festival and won a gold medal. In 2009, he participated in the CCTV National Instrumental Music TV Competition and won the Outstanding Award in the Traditional Combination Category. From 2018 to 2021, it has won the Outstanding Program Award of the Shanghai Performance Industry Association for 4 consecutive years. In 2021, it won the first place in the cross-border music performance competition hosted by the first MISA star push show.
The orchestra actively builds various concert brands with rich repertoire and diverse forms. He has co-produced the "Linglong Chinese Music" concert with the Shanghai Concert Hall, and has the "Twenty-Four in Yuli" Yuyuan solar term theme park immersion brand concert; Poly City Theater "Xin Yue Fu" and "Xin Guo Le" brand concerts, Zhongshan, Guangdong Lectures and concerts of the "Gate of Art Colorful Folk Music" series by the Arts and Culture Center. At the same time, the orchestra has creatively produced a series of concerts such as "Taste of Shanghai Style" and "Dunhuang Chinese Music" over the years, performed in the "Weekly Radio Concert", and staged a series of concerts such as Chinese music for the Spring Festival in the New Year. In 2017, the Orchestra created an original project of the National Chamber Music Music and Painting Theater "Twenty-Four Solar Terms", which was funded by the Shanghai Cultural Development Foundation in 2017.
The orchestra performs more than 80 times a year. In 2007, he went to Germany to participate in the "China National Day" performance; held a one-month exhibition performance in Beijing during the 2008 Olympic Games, and held a six-month exhibition performance in the China Elements Pavilion during the Shanghai World Expo; 2010 Japan Tour, 2011 and 2012 Lyon Consular Festival in France, Prague Spring Music Festival in 2012, Confucius Institute Exchange Performance in Thailand in 2012, Inauguration Ceremony of Madrid Cultural Center in Spain in 2013, Korean Drama Festival in 2013, Korean Tourism Festival in 2014, Chinese Music Festival in Canada in 2014, and the United States in 2014 Chinese Spring Festival Gala; 2014 China-Seychelles friendship and state-building performance; 2018 Russia and Latvia "Happy Spring Festival"; participated in many Chinese music exhibitions in Singapore, Frankfurt, Germany, Indonesia and Taiwan.
The orchestra inherits the ancient Dunhuang civilization with innovative ideas rooted in traditional culture, and displays the new spirit of contemporary folk music with colorful vocabulary.
