Under the influence of his father, Xiong Junjie began to learn dulcimer performance at the age of ten. After the professional enlightenment of teachers Hongliang and Cao Huilan, he was admitted to the High School Affiliated to Wuhan Conservatory of Music in 1991, and was admitted to the Department of Instrumental Music of China Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of yangqin performer Professor Gan Yongkang in 1997. , to study dulcimer playing skills under the guidance of Professor Xiang Zuhua, a Chinese dulcimer master and vice-chairman of the World Dulcimer Association (CWA).
In 2001, due to outstanding professional achievements, he was promoted to the Research Department of China Conservatory of Music to study for a master's degree. He has received advice and guidance from experts and teachers such as Professor Gui Xili, Xu Xuedong, Li Lingling, Liu Shun, and Luo Yuan. After receiving the national chamber music training in college, he began to attach importance to the attempt and study of various musical styles including modern music. Has participated in three bands: "Smell the Wind" (Jazz Music), "Shaking Feather" (Folk Music), "Five Elements" (World Music).
In 1993, accompanied by the Chinese Art Troupe, went to Zhuhai and Macau to participate in music festivals
In 1999, he participated in the Ningbo, Hangzhou and Wenzhou Music Festivals with the Huaxia Chamber Orchestra of the China Conservatory of Music
In 2000, he went to Seoul, South Korea with the Percussion Orchestra of China Conservatory of Music to participate in the Percussion Art Festival
In 2002, cooperated with Erhu master Ms. Min Huifen to perform in CCTV Spring Festival Opera Concert
In May 2002, he went to Hong Kong with the "Shaking Feather" band to perform in the concert celebrating the handover
In June of the same year, he went to Japan to participate in the "A Piece of ASIA" world concert held in Tokyo.
In January and July 2003, he began to perform world concerts with the "Five Elements" band, and toured in Frankfurt, Bavaria, Nuremberg, Slovenia, Fuzhou, China and other countries and regions.
In October 2003, he participated in the International Modern Music Season held in Beijing and Chengdu with the National Chamber Music Band of the Academy
In October 2004, he stood out among thousands of world music bands and was invited to participate in the world's largest music exposition "WOMEX" held in Germany.
