Yang Jin, young pipa player. Master of Arts in pipa Performance, Central Conservatory of Music, is now a pipa teacher at Wuhan Conservatory of Music.
Four and a half years old Liuqin, nine years old pipa. In 1994, he studied with Wu Junsheng, a famous pipa player, and was admitted to the Affiliated Primary School of the Central Conservatory of Music in September 1995. In 2002, he was admitted to the Central Conservatory of Music with a full scholarship. In October 2005, he was admitted to the Central Conservatory of Music to study for a master's degree without examination. He has been taught by Associate Professor Li Hui and Professor Sun Weixi, and has received guidance from many famous pipa teachers. He has been awarded the outstanding student leader, the outstanding Communist Youth League member and the outstanding scholarship for many times, and has won the full scholarship for new students and the "People's Scholarship" during the undergraduate period. In March 2010, as the only pipa player selected by the Chinese mainland, he was invited by Carnegie Hall to participate in the first "Kronos Quartet Master Class" and cooperated with three groups of string quartets from Toronto, Ireland and the Netherlands. He became the youngest Chinese folk music player from the mainland to perform at the world's top concert hall, Carnegie Hall.
