Ye Xuran, male, chairman of the Pipa Distance Learning Committee of the Shanghai Computer Music Association, a famous pipa performer, and a professor at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music.
In 1953, he studied Pipa under Lin Shicheng, and in 1956 he was admitted to the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. Under the tutelage of Wei Zhongle, Sun Yude, Cheng Wujia, Yang Shaoyi, Fan Shaoyun, etc.
After graduating early in 1960, he stayed at the school to teach pipa for a long time. He is currently an associate professor of Pipa at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, the first director of the Chinese Pipa Research Association, and the vice president of the Shanghai Pipa Society.
In 1958, he used the chord multi-part technique for the first time to arrange the orchestral piece "Senji Dema" into a pipa solo.
In 1960, he composed the pipa solo "Flying with Flowers", which has been published for several decades at home and abroad, and has become one of the representative works of modern pipa music. Later adaptations of pipa songs include "The Evening Party", "Butterfly Loves Flowers" and "Red Sun on Jinggang Mountain".
In 1979, he won the national musical instrument pipa in the introduction of "big beads and small beads falling on a jade plate" on Shanghai TV.
In 1982, he premiered "Dunhuang Music Composer" interpreted by Ye Dong and recorded a tape.
From 1996 to 1997, he published "Learn Pipa Well", "Pipa Grading Guidance" audio tape, CD and a personal album CD published by China Zheng Music Club. Ling also published "Pipa Examination Collection" (cooperation with others), and published papers such as "Wei Zhongle Pipa Performing Arts". He has traveled to Hong Kong, Taiwan and other places to give lectures and perform.
