Yin Weihe was born in Wuhan. In middle school, he was exposed to the performance of national instrumental music, and once participated in the ensemble with bamboo flute performance, and won the first prize of the national national instrumental music ensemble. In 1957, he went to the Hubei Provincial Radio Orchestra to perform professionally. He learned from Kong Jianhua, and later asked for advice from Lu Chunling and others. In 1961, he was transferred to the Hubei Provincial Song and Dance Troupe. In the same year, he was admitted to the Hubei Provincial Academy of Arts for further studies. Now he is a solo performer of the Hubei Provincial Song and Dance Troupe.

His performance is delicate and the timbre is crisp, and he pays more attention to the performance of music. He is good at playing bright and relaxed works. In the early 1960s, he composed and performed two pieces of "Pickling Tea in Spring Mountain" and "Ode to the Qinghe River". Get praise from peers. "Chunshan Tea Picking" is based on the Hefeng folk song "Embroidered Fragrance Bag" in Enshi area. The music mainly expresses the happy labor of Chashan girls. The author boldly uses 2/4, 3/8 and other rhythms in the creation of rich contrasts and changes, and uses the technique of changing the key in the middle of the music, trying to express the path of the trails in the Chashan Mountains. The music breaks the tradition in creation. The common techniques of flute music are full of new ideas.

His representative works include "Pickling Tea in Spring Mountain", "Ode to Qinghe River", "Yangtze River Sound and Painting", "Fly, Beautiful Bailing" and so on.

Now he is a member of Hubei Branch of Chinese Musicians Association.
