Balangzikumu (pinyin: bā lǎng zī kù mù) is a Tajik plucked stringed musical instrument. Popular in Tashkurgan Tajik Autonomous County, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
Balangzi Kumu has a long history and a large body. The traditional Balangzi kumu is composed of piano box, headstock, piano rod, peg, bridge and strings. The body is made of a whole piece of apricot wood, with a total length of 92 cm. Round, the upper part is connected to the wider neck, and there are several small circular sound holes on it, and some sound holes are spelled into various patterns.
According to superstitious legends, the barangzi wood represents the voice of "Huda" (Allah), and only with its accompaniment can the deceased be sent to heaven. After the liberation, the Tajiks broke the superstition and used the barangzi wood for singing and dancing accompaniment. When playing, the right hand uses a wooden pick to play, the pronunciation is loud and vigorous, and the tone is softer and lower than that of Hot Bubu.
