Jiaoweiqin (pinyin: Jiāo wěi qín) is one of the four famous qins in ancient China. Compared with the other three qin, the name of "Jiaowei" is straightforward, but its life experience is extraordinary, so it was created by Cai Yong, a famous person in the Eastern Han Dynasty.
According to "The Biography of Cai Yong in the Book of the Later Han Dynasty", it is recorded: "There were people in Wu who burned tong for cooking. Yong heard the sound of fire and knew it was a good wood, so he cut it into a qin because of the request. That's why people called it 'Yuweiqin' at that time." At the end of the Han Dynasty, after Cai Yong was killed, Jiaoweiqin was kept in the imperial library. It is said that when Emperor Qi Ming was in power, he took out the Jiaowei Qin and asked Wang Cuxiong, a master of guqin, to play it. Wang Zhongxiong played continuously for five days, and improvised the song "A Song of Annoyance" for Emperor Ming. During the Ming Dynasty, Wang Fengnian, a native of Kunshan, also kept the Jiaowei Qin made by Cai Yong.
In ancient China, there was a saying of the "Four Famous Qins", the "horn bell" of Duke Huan of Qi, the "round beam" of King Zhuang of Chu, the "green qi" of Sima Xiangru and the "jiao tail" of Cai Yong.
Use "Jiaoweiqin, Jiaowei, Jiaotong, Jiaoqin" etc. to refer to the beautiful qin, or to describe a talented person who has gone through hardships and an unappreciated treasure; , After the rest, the good talents enter the house." Writing good talents is useless, or it is a metaphor for being devastated and surviving.
There are five kinds of qin not to play: the wind and rain do not play, the dust city does not play, the common people do not play, the sitting does not play, the clothes do not play.
Ming Zhao Zhenyuan's "Recovering Kaifeng Taifu for Yuan Shiyu (Yuan Kelizi)": "Xia Zhuang is warm, and young silk is sung on Cao's monument; Wei province is high, and Jiao Wei is in the class management."
It is mentioned in Jin Yong's martial arts novel that Guo Xiang once listened to He Zudao, the "Three Saints of Kunlun" playing the Jiaowei qin in the Shaoshi mountain forest.
