Miaodi

Miao flute (pinyin: miáo dí), a single-reed air-sounding instrument of the Miao nationality, popular in Rongjiang, Congjiang, Leishan, Danzhai, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province, Longlin, Xilin, Napo, Rongshui Miao in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Autonomous County, Yunnan Province, Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Pingbian Miao Autonomous County and Wenshan Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture and other places.

Miao flute tube body is made of bamboo, mostly made of reed bamboo with long tube details produced locally, about 40 cm long and 1 cm in diameter.

The Miao flute has a narrow range, generally only 5 tones can be produced, and it is played with one blow and one suction.
