Mushroom overview

Mushroom The bo (pinyin: bó) is a musical instrument with a shape close to that of a bell. The body of the mushroom is larger than that of the bell, and the cross-section of the body is oval (or a tile shape that tends to be oval). In the early days, there were many bird-shaped, tiger-shaped, or Kui-shaped "wings" on both sides of the mushroom, and the decoration was gorgeous and complicated. It is a large single percussion instrument of the ancient Han nationality. Aristocrats often used it in conjunction with bells and chimes when feasting or offering sacrifices. It is characterized by a ring button, a flat mouth, and an oval or tile-shaped body.
Fungus first appeared in the Shang Dynasty, reached its peak in the early Spring and Autumn Period, declined in the middle and late Spring and Autumn Period, and was merged by Niu Zhong in the late Warring States Period. The earliest mushrooms appeared in the southern region, and later became popular in the north and south of the river. There are three inscriptions on the fungus that have been discovered so far, which are named Fungi, namely, Junfan (mid-Spring and Autumn Period, State of Qi), Shuyi Fan (late Spring and Autumn Period, State of Qi), and Zhu Gongsun Banfan (late Spring and Autumn Period). Other mushrooms are shaped like mushrooms and are called bells in the inscriptions.
Unearthed in Miaoqian Village, Wanrong County, Shanxi in 1970, it is tall and tall, with a small roof and a large tile-shaped cover. The hollow flat button is in the shape of a double dragon swallowing a winged beast. There are thirty-six slightly convex screw-shaped pieces on both sides of the body. The drum is decorated with cloud and thunder patterns. The body of the vessel is inscribed with eighteen lines and one hundred and seventy-five characters. Remember that Su Ming's ancestor, Uncle Bao, made great contributions to the state of Qi, and Duke Huan gave him the historical facts of picking colors. In order to encourage himself, Su Ming cast this musical instrument to worship his mother Zhongjiang, and wished his descendants happiness.
