The sound tube is made of bamboo, and the main tube and the auxiliary tube are tied side by side (pictured). The main tube is 29 cm long, the inner diameter of the tube tail is 1 cm, and there is a bamboo joint at the upper end. There is a rectangular blow hole on the side wall near the joint, and a copper reed in a 20° sharp triangle is sealed. There are six sound holes in the middle and lower part of the tube body (five in the front and one in the back), the hole spacing is different, and the back hole is the highest sound hole. The length of the auxiliary tube is 20 cm, the inner diameter of the tube tail is 0.6 cm, and the head end is opened with a blow hole, inlaid with a reed, and without a sound hole. The side of the pipe wall adjacent to the main pipe and the main pipe extends to the end of the main pipe. The head (below the blowing hole) and the tail of the two pipes are tied with silk threads and fixed with yellow wax.

When playing, the tube is upright. The thumb of the left hand presses the back hole, the index finger, middle finger, and ring finger press the upper three holes, and the index finger and ring finger of the right hand press the two holes. The mouth contains two mouthpieces, which can be pronounced by blowing and breathing. Often used for solo or accompaniment, it can be played by both men and women. In addition to playing this musical instrument during festivals and entertainment, Lisu youths often use juju to express their love to their sweethearts.
