Tuhu overview

Tuhu Tuhu (pinyin: tǔ hú), also known as Mu Hu or Hou Hu, is a Zhuang nationality bow and stringed musical instrument. The middle tone has become the matching instrument of the horse bone beard, and the tone is rich.

Popular in the counties of western Guangxi, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Funing County and other places.

Tuhu with a unique appearance, the head is like a three-string, the stem is cylindrical, and the barrel is like a lyre. Most of them are made by folk artists using local materials and soil methods. A dry gourd with a big belly is cut from the thin end, or two gourds are cut from the middle, and the bottom of the gourd is used. Taking snake skin as the surface, it becomes a hemispherical cylinder with slightly smaller ends and slightly larger middle.
