Yi nationality big sanxian overview
The Yi Dasanxian (pinyin yí zú dà sān xián) is composed of a resonator, a headstock, a qin rod, a peg, a qin horse, a tie-string and a qin string. During traditional festivals, people will dress up in costumes and gather together to sing and dance.
The representative places of the Yi nationality's sanxian are Luliang County and Shilin County.
In the Chinese Musical Instrument Museum of the Institute of Music of the China Academy of Arts in Beijing, there is a large Yi nationality sanxian on display. This violin is a masterpiece with meticulous selection of materials and excellent craftsmanship. It has been included in the large-scale album "Illustrated Guide of Chinese Musical Instruments".
