Zani overview

Zani Zani (pinyin: Zani) is a Tibetan bow and stringed musical instrument. Also known as horns, horns Hu, horsetail Hu. It has a long history and an ancient form. It is popular in Maqu County, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province, Henan County, Huangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, and the vast areas of Tibetan semi-agricultural and semi-pastoral areas.

In the semi-agricultural and semi-pastoral areas inhabited by Tibetans in Qinghai Province, the popular Zani is a veritable two-stringed bullhorn. The stem and pegs are all made of wood, and their shape is similar to that of the Beijing Erhu. For the horns made of horns, the tip of the horn should be removed, and the thick end should be covered with sheepskin. Zhang two bundles of ponytail strings, with a ponytail bow sandwiched between the two strings to play. The chord is tuned in fifths, the pronunciation is sharp and thin, the tone is crisp and melodious, but the volume is small. Can be used for solo or ensemble, often used for folk song and dance accompaniment.

Traditional music includes "The Horse Wants to Run", "The Swan Swimming in the Lake", "The Sound of the Mountaintop" and "The Milking Girl".
