The qin piece "Stepping to the Moon in Autumn Night" was composed by Liu Shilong of the Southern Qi Dynasty in the Northern and Southern Dynasties. Liu Shilong served as a high-ranking official in the Song and Qi dynasties of the Southern Dynasties, and was the highest official. His literary and historical accomplishment and outstanding musical talent were recognized at the time, and he was known as the number one scholar. He devoted himself to qin music in his later years. Because of such a detached state of mind, there is this free and easy "Autumn Night Walking in the Moon".
This piece was first seen in "Xilutang Qintong", and later included in "Xingxin Qin Score", "Mo Li Reference" and other collections. Mr. Mani Tianhong's "Autumn Night Steps to the Moon" is based on "Xilutang Qintong". "Xilutang Qintong" was written in the Ming Dynasty Jiajing Yiyou (1525) year, and a total of 170 pieces were collected. "It is a large-scale guqin encyclopedia that integrates qin theory and guqin scores during the Ming Dynasty. Some of them originate from Song Dynasty qin scores, and there are many rare ancient scores."
The explanation of the title of "Qiu Xiao Bu Yue" in "Xing Xin Qin Pu" says: "It was written by Liu Shilong in the Southern Qi Dynasty. His music is like walking in the atrium on a moonlit night. One. Don’t do world affairs in old age. Play the piano with the curtain down. That’s why there is this song.”
