Matouqin is melodious, affectionate, and moving. Matouqin is not only a representative symbol of Mongolian music, but also a national cultural treasure that is well-known in China and the world. Whenever the sound of the matouqin sounds, people can't help being attracted, as if they are in the prairie that haunts their dreams.

On the stage, we have experienced the charm of many Matouqin performers. But in retrospect, it seems that every time the performers are men, this is inseparable from the characteristics of the matouqin itself and the influence of the real environment. Today, what we want to talk about is Bai Sarina, China's first female matouqin teacher.

Bai Sarina, the first female matouqin teacher in China

In 1996, Bai Sarina was admitted to the High School Affiliated to the School of Arts of Inner Mongolia University (now Inner Mongolia Academy of Arts), majoring in matouqin, with the first place in both cultural and professional courses, and was later sent to the School of Arts of Inner Mongolia University for further studies in the music matouqin major. In 2003, she stayed at the school to teach and became a matouqin professional teacher in the middle school attached to the Art College of Inner Mongolia University, the first female matouqin teacher in China.

As a female matouqin player, while enjoying the highlight moments, Bai Sarina has also put in much more effort than ordinary people to control the matouqin even better. In the words of her students, "Mr. Sarina is more manly than a man when she interprets a rough style; when she plays a gentle song, it melts people's hearts."

In 2009, Bai Sarina was admitted to the National University of Mongolia for a master's degree. In 2018, she was admitted to the Mongolian National University of Education to study for a doctoral degree. Looking at her resume, we can feel that this is not an ordinary performer, but is clearly a "learner-type" performer.
