The Nohhara Mushroom is a group of braided mushrooms, composed of several inscriptions into a whole, and this inscription is only one of them. It is difficult to find out how many pieces of this group of weaving mushrooms are in total. It is known that in addition to this one in the Forbidden City, there is also one in the Forbidden City in Taipei. Judging from the content of the inscriptions, the number of the whole group of weaving mushrooms is far more than these two pieces. The text on this set of utensils is extremely difficult to decipher, and scholars in the past vaguely recognized the word "Nengyuan", so it was named "Nengyuan Bell", or simply admitted that it could not be interpreted, and named it "Odd-character Clock".
During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, in southern my country (such as Chu, Cai, Xu, Zeng, Wu, Yue and other countries at that time), an extremely exaggerated artistic font was prevalent, which was called "Bird and Insect Book", which was characterized by strokes and birds. Shapes are mixed together. After several generations of scholars' research and analysis, the writing rules of most of the characters in this script have been mastered, but some of the characters cast on the musical instruments and weapons of the Yue State belong to the bird and insect script, which is still difficult to interpret. " is one of the typical set of artifacts.
In recent years, in order to solve this problem in the study of bronze inscriptions, the Palace Museum has initiated a discussion on "Nohara Fungus" in the academic journal, which has been widely supported by the academic community. Among them, Mr. Cao Jinyan's paper provides an interpretation of the general content of this group of inscriptions, and now his analysis of the content of the inscriptions is reproduced as follows: "Because the state of Ju expanded its territory and invaded the state of Zhu, the state of Yue intervened and presided over the state. After this division of territory, he took the opportunity to expand the land and build a city, connecting Zhu and Ju under his feet. The inscription records the content of the alliance between Yue, Zhu and Ju.”
