On March 13, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between China and Japan, the "Chinese Bamboo Flute and Japanese Shamisen Concert" hosted by the Japan-China Friendship Association was held at the Japan-China Friendship Association Art Museum in Tokyo.
In Japan, Chinese flute player Wang Mingjun, Japanese Tsugaru shamisen player Matssubashi Reika, keyboard player and Kawan Yumi brought the audience an artistic feast of fusion of Chinese and Japanese cultures. The event was held in the morning and afternoon, and more than 200 spectators attended the event.

Wang Mingjun and Yuchuan Yumi ensemble performed traditional Chinese flute pieces such as "Shepherd's Flute", "Birds in the Forest" and "Pickling Tea in Spring Mountain", and also performed the famous Japanese piece "Language Orange Flower". Reika Matsubashi performed traditional shamisen classics such as "Tsugaru Folk Ballad", "Apple Minor" and "Akita Folk Ballad" from Aomori and Akita prefectures in northeastern Japan. The three artists also jointly performed a new Chinese and Japanese masterpiece - "Jasmine·Sakura", which was specially created for this event.

The Chinese bamboo flute is light and melodious and touching, and the Japanese shamisen is slow and hard, and the classic interpretation of high-level artists from China and Japan has won warm applause from the audience time and time again. Before and after the performance, the audience also watched the "Photography of the Forbidden City in China and the Art of Japanese Flower Arrangement" being exhibited at the Japan-China Friendship Association Museum, and watched a high-definition video introducing the beauty of the Forbidden City.
After watching the performance and exhibition, the audience said that the display of the Chinese Forbidden City and Japanese flower arrangement, Chinese bamboo flute and Japanese shamisen on the same stage is really an unforgettable artistic enjoyment. Looking forward to listening to Chinese folk music and feeling the infinite charm of Chinese culture.
This concert is a supporting event for the "Praise of the Four Seasons - Photography of the Forbidden City in China and the Art of Japanese Flower Arrangement" in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between China and Japan. The exhibition is jointly organized by the Japan-China Friendship Association, the Palace Museum, and the Chifang Flower Arrangement Association. It will be on display until April 17 (closed every Monday).
