On the 19th, the "Chinese Charm" symphony concert hosted by China International Culture Group Co., Ltd. was successfully held at the Champs-Élysées Theatre in Paris, France, presenting a "Chinese-French" musical feast to the Paris audience. Chen Li, Minister of the Chinese Embassy in France, and Yan Zhenquan, Minister Counsellor for Culture, watched the concert together with people from all walks of life in France and representatives of the local Overseas Chinese Chamber of Commerce.
The concert was performed by the French Cologne Orchestra founded in 1873, and the young Chinese conductor Qian Junping swayed the bat. The concert opened with "Gifts", composed by Chinese composer Zhou Tian, who was nominated for the "Best Contemporary Classical Music Composition Award" at the 60th Grammy Awards. Inspired by traditional Chinese Yuefu poems, the composer uses the musical language of the five-tone complex to show the infinite tension of the symphony orchestra, perfectly integrating Chinese national tones, modern harmony and strong beats, showing the profound heritage of Chinese culture.
In order to highlight the characteristics of Sino-French cultural exchanges and mutual learning, the concert specially invited the erhu performer Guo Gan, who has lived in France for many years, to perform together with the Cologne Orchestra. Chanson's "Praise of Love", every movement and stillness is like the strings of an erhu, with a beautiful and touching melody flowing out of the symphony.
The first half of the concert ended with the piano concerto "Er Huang" composed by Chen Qigang, played by young pianist Wang Zhiren in Europe. The motivation for its creation comes from Erhuang's passage in Peking Opera. The composer skillfully grafts and connects Chinese musical language and Western composition techniques, perfectly embodying the fusion of Eastern and Western cultures.
In the second half of the concert, the Cologne Orchestra performed "Dance of Dionysus", which is filled with mysterious oriental colors. After that, Chinese tenor Lu Zhiquan and French soprano Ermini Brandel sang the Chinese song "Song of the Yangtze River". " and the French opera "Pearl Divers" excerpt "You Don't Know My Heart". The concert finale is five works with obvious regional characteristics in the folk song theme orchestral suite "Yanhuang Style" composed by the famous Chinese composer Bao Yuankai. The minor key "Yangliuqing", the narrative song "Orchid Flower" popular in northern Shaanxi, the "tongue twister" Yunnan nursery rhyme "Guess the Tune", and the widely circulated duet song "Double Flower" in North China. The five pieces of music have their own characteristics, are well-known and have been circulated for a long time. They vividly show the life picture scroll of the descendants of Yan and Huang, which spans east, west, north and south, love, joy and sorrow, and brings a different musical experience to the French audience.
