The "Dunhuang Cup" Chinese Erhu Performance Competition has a strong professional jury lineup, a wide range of contestants, and a rigorous and standardized competition system, which is unique in domestic folk music competitions. This competition is the fifth edition, with more than 2,000 participants, including outstanding erhu players from various provinces and cities in China. Chongqing players prepared for the competition earnestly, went all out in the competition, and shined in each group of the finals. A total of 26 people won awards, including 9 gold medals, 5 silver medals, 11 bronze medals, and 1 outstanding performance award.

Liu Guangyu, a famous erhu performer, vice chairman of Chongqing Federation of Literary and Art Circles, chairman of Chongqing Music Association, president of Chongqing Opera House, and head of Chongqing Symphony Orchestra, was invited to serve as a judge for the ten-day competition and participated in the "Opening Concert" , and led the Chongqing Opera House Music Story Group to participate in the "Concert of Huqin Players at Home and Abroad". Ma Jun, associate professor of the School of Music of Southwest University and vice president of the Chongqing Erhu Society, was also invited to perform in the "Concerts of Past Winners and Competitors".

On the field, Liu Guangyu said, "Musical instruments are the external form of people's thoughts, and Chinese musical instruments are the external forms of Chinese people's thoughts. The Chinese people have passed on this form of thought for thousands of years. Today, it has become a symbol of the national spirit.
