• Taoxun (low temperature pottery, medium temperature pottery, high temperature pottery): (1), low temperature pottery xun: the common black leather pottery in Xi'an is generally low temperature pottery, which has good water absorption, avoids bumping, and cannot be washed. (2) Medium-temperature pottery xun: The xun made of red pottery is generally medium-temperature pottery, with moderate hardness, can be contacted with water, and has good water absorption. It will not accumulate water when playing for a long time at low temperature, and the pronunciation is stable. (3), high temperature pottery xun: high hardness, can be washed. The disadvantage is that it does not absorb water at all, and when the temperature is low, the playing will accumulate water, which will easily affect the pronunciation.
• Semi-porcelain xun: that is, it is not completely fired into porcelain. Generally, the surface is glazed, which is easy to clean. It has the characteristics of medium temperature pottery, moderate hardness, can be washed with water, good water absorption, no water accumulation under low temperature for a long time, and stable pronunciation.
• Porcelain xun: fired at high temperature, similar in properties to high-temperature pottery, and generally glazed on the surface. It does not absorb water at all. When the temperature is low, water will accumulate when playing, which will easily affect the pronunciation.
• Muxun: Light in weight, not easy to break. Does not absorb water.
• Bamboo Xun: Bamboo Hou, Bamboo Xun. Not easy to break, not absorbent.
• Zisha pottery xun: unique arrangement of double pores, excellent water absorption and natural appearance, no chemical glaze is used, the sound is vicissitudes of life, ethereal and heavy, and it is not afraid of bumps and water. Refinement and simplicity are typical representatives of literati xun
• Other: resin, resin mixed clay, plastic, etc.

Xun was originally a musical instrument, but most of the products sold in the tourist market are craft xuns that cannot be played. The craft xun is generally a traditional pear-shaped, 8-hole, non-standard style, cheap, and the carving level is uneven; musical instruments are generally finely made. , with the name of the producer or tuner, and the mode is marked on the xun.
