All zheng friends know that the sound quality of a guzheng is jointly determined by the panel and the craftsmanship of the master. Needless to say, the master's craftsmanship, and the panel is an important factor that directly affects the tone. Today, let's talk about how the level of the panel is divided.
first class
The wood grain is cut in diameter, and the material is concentrated between the radius and the heart of the tree, with a little part of the heart of the tree. The grain is straight and the spacing varies little. The central area of the tree (chord-cut state) accounts for a small proportion. The texture is loose, the surface horizontal lines are obvious, and there are no twill lines and random lines (commonly known as "inverted shreds").
second level
Wood grain diameter cut, near the heart of the tree. The texture is basically straight, but the spacing is wide and narrow, and the central area of the tree accounts for a certain proportion. The texture is loose, but the horizontal lines are not obvious, and there are a few active stripe knots.
third grade
The wood grain is cut in diameter, with a core part, and the texture is not straight, the spacing width is obviously different, and the core area accounts for a large proportion. The material is more rigid and less loose. There are few articulation scars.
Therefore, we must have a preliminary understanding of the choice of the panel, so as to better choose the guzheng we want. In fact, the editor prefers the texture of the panel, such as the Hongsheng guzheng and the glare guzheng.
