The Bilangbulang is a single-reed gas-sounding instrument of the Kemu people. "Bilangbulang" is a phonetic translation of Kemu, meaning flute, which is a unique wind instrument of Kemu people. It is popular in the areas where the Kemu people live in Mengla and Jinghong, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province.

There are two kinds of specifications: long and short, the short one is called the "Kunlangbulang collar", the "collar" in Kemu language is short, literally translated as a piccolo, and the tube is about 40 centimeters long; "Wan" in the wooden language means long, literally translated as a flute, with a length of 80 cm to 120 cm.

Piccolo sounds are listed as: g1, a1, c2, d2, e2, g2; flute sounds are listed as: g, a, c1, d1, e1, g1. The piccolo is pronounced one octave higher than the flute. The piccolo's tone is bright and round; the flute's tone is plump and rich. It can be used for solo or ensemble. It is a self-entertainment musical instrument commonly used by Kemu people. Sometimes it is also used in the love life of young men and women. When a young man is dating a girl, he will often play the melodious Yulangbulang.
