How to three-dimensionally display the depth of ancient books and the beauty of ancient songs? On the evening of September 3, the first concert of the "Ancient Songs in Ancient Books" series, "Convergence and Clearance", gave the answer.

"Confluence of Chengjian" originated from the plaque of Wenyuan Pavilion behind the Wenhua Hall of the Forbidden City. "Converging Chengjian" compares Chinese culture to the flow of water, implying that "Siku Quanshu" contains and summarizes the essence of five thousand years of Chinese civilization. The concert is divided into chapters such as "Prologue", "Waihuai Qin Shu", "Heroes of Heaven and Earth", "Patience of the Century", and "End Chapter". The "Prologue" is selected from the ancient book "Book of Songs", and "Guan Ju" brought by the China Coal Mine Art Troupe Xinghuatian Chamber Orchestra and Chorus kicked off the concert.

The four pieces performed in the first chapter "Wei Huai Qin Shu" are respectively based on the ancient books "The Magical Secret Book" and "Sounds of the Ancient Times". Flowing Water perfectly presents the audience with the elegant artistic conception of ancient songs from a thousand years ago, making people feel the feeling of "were young people leave things outside, but entrust them to Qin Shu". The three ancient songs of the second chapter "Heroes of Heaven and Earth" are selected from the ancient books "The Collection of Yue Zhongwu King", "Wei's Music Score" and "Yuefu Poems". The family and country feelings described in Suishou Hannanjian Shangshu is also the praise of brave women in "Mulan Ci". The third chapter, "Patience of the Century", is selected from the ancient books "The Four Volumes of The Peony Pavilion", "The Occasion of Leisurely Love" and "Dunhuang Music Score"; The third piece of "Violin Sonata" presents the beauty of Chinese and Western music, and pays tribute to the early musicians who promoted the exchange of music and art between China and foreign countries.

Since the establishment of the "Ancient Songs in Ancient Books" project in March 2022, the China Coal Mine Art Troupe, together with experts and scholars from the Ancient Books Library of the National Library and the Chinese Academy of Arts, have conducted many studies and discussions, and finally carefully selected 36 of the more than 50 ancient books. Supporting ancient tunes, properly arranged on the basis of fully respecting the records of ancient books and ancient scores, and assisting the performance of ancient tunes in various forms such as drama performances, poetry recitation, and ancient tune singing, and strive to create a three-dimensional display of the depth of ancient books and the beauty of ancient tunes The extraordinary concert with rhythm makes ancient books audible and ancient songs impressive, allowing audiences to enjoy the precious collections left by their ancestors from sight to hearing. The three performances with different artistic conceptions expressed the heart of "converging and clearing the mirror", in the realm of "watching the moon and cherishing the distance", tasting the meaning of "life situation", telling the stories of ancient books, and pursuing the emotions of the ancients.

The series of concerts "Ancient Songs in Ancient Books" will be held on September 10th and 11th, with two other performances of "Looking at the Moon and Thinking About the Future" and "The Taste of Life".
