From July 16th to 17th, the "Erhu·Pipa Summer Concert" to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between China and Japan was successfully held in Tokyo, Japan. The concert was hosted by the Japan-China Friendship Center and held 4 concerts. About 500 Japanese audiences from all walks of life enjoyed the Sino-Japanese cultural exchange feast.
This concert was jointly presented by Japanese and Chinese young artists KIRIKO and SAKURA. They used traditional Chinese musical instruments to perform "Blue and White Porcelain", "New Horse Racing", "That Summer", "Blooming Journey", "Passion Continent" and "Colorful Pepper". The popular classic repertoire of the two countries, and introduced the characteristics of the erhu and pipa in performance and timbre to the audience between the performances, as well as the experience and feelings of engaging in cultural exchanges between Japan and China. The two young artists performed superbly and communicated with the audience in a relaxed and cheerful manner, and thunderous applause broke out again and again at the scene.
After the event, the audience said to the staff that due to the epidemic, the society will inevitably feel a sense of isolation, but the beautiful music at the concert brought comfort to people's hearts. The wonderful performances of the two artists, KIRIKO and SAKURA, and their deep feelings for the exchange of music between Japan and China are impressive.
This concert is one of the supporting activities to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between China and Japan, "Seeing China through Art - Selected Works Exhibition of Beijing International Art Biennale". The exhibition was jointly sponsored by the Japan-China Friendship Association and the Chinese Artists Association. It exhibited 35 modern art works by Chinese artists reflecting themes such as environmental protection, harmonious development of urban and rural areas, cultural exchanges between China and the West, inheritance and innovation of traditional culture. The exhibition will be on view until August 14th.
The Japan-China Friendship Association was established in 1988. It is a bilateral friendship organization funded and co-founded by the governments of China and Japan. The staff of both China and Japan are co-located. As one of the seven Japan-China friendship groups, the Japan-China Friendship Association has been established for more than 30 years. It has been unremittingly carrying out Japan-China cultural exchanges, youth exchanges, and the operation of foreign student dormitories (Horakuliao) and language schools (Japan-China College), etc. The work has become an important platform for promoting friendly exchanges and cooperation between the two countries.
