In the Douyin live broadcast room, Jin Yunqiu, whose face was still slightly immature, was watching the messages flashing by line by line.

"I want to listen to "Horse Racing" again!"

"My favorite is "Liuyang River" by Shell La. It's the first time I heard the erhu version."

"Shell Shell, I know you will definitely play "The Grapes Are Ripe", I want to hear it!"

Jin Yunqiu straightened her body, straightened her erhu, pulled the bow with her right hand, and shook her body slightly.

"Little Shell Erhu" is Jin Yunqiu's name on Douyin. This year is her second year of graduate school, but it is already her fourth year of live broadcasting. For four years, every night from 7:30 to 11:00, she would show up on time with the erhu in her arms, rain or shine. Through the live broadcast, she has already achieved the goal she set when she was admitted to graduate school: pay tuition and support herself.

After studying erhu for 20 years, "Little Shell" secretly buries the determination to be independent

Jin Yunqiu's erhu road started at the age of 6. The grandmother who teaches music at the university for the elderly is responsible for enlightenment, and the mother is responsible for leading the practice. Every day, after she finished her schoolwork, her mother took a piece of paper that her grandmother had written her plan. The paper is full of practice tasks that Jin Yunqiu needs to complete that day. Complete one, cross out one. When all the tasks are completed, two hours have passed.

Since then, Jin Yunqiu has behaved differently from other children who were forced to learn the piano. "If I don't finish the tasks on the paper myself, I will be very insecure. Before I finish practicing Erhu, I don't have the mind to do anything else."

From elementary school to high school, Jin Yunqiu took an hour-long car ride with her mother every week to take classes with professional teachers in downtown Shenyang. With the bumpy rhythm of the vehicle, her heart also beat the rhythm of the tune. With the improvement of erhu level, Jin Yunqiu decided to take the professional route. After that, her mother accompanied her, spending one day and one night a week from Shenyang to Beijing to take professional classes.

Looking back on the process of learning erhu, Jin Yunqiu's biggest feeling is her mother's dedication: "My mother has paid too much to be with me. So after I got the admission letter from Shenyang Conservatory of Music for graduate students, what I want to do most Just to be able to pay the tuition by herself, so that she can take a break and take a breath."

An erhu concert was held in the live broadcast room, and she paid the three-year tuition with the reward income

In the first year of graduate school, Jin Yunqiu started live broadcasting on Douyin.

She still remembered the first time she clicked the button for live broadcast, staring at the screen herself, watching three or four people come in and out occasionally. In the live broadcast room, no one spoke, and no one gave a reward. So, Jin Yunqiu found a way to ease the embarrassment - playing the piano. As soon as she started playing the piano, her heart settled down. The movement of the body and fingers naturally finds a familiar feeling.

"War Horse Galloping", "One Flower", "Liuyang River"... Jin Yunqiu pulled the difficult and popular songs one by one. She also began to put more thought into planning some special live broadcasts, such as "Golden Songs of Film and Television", or "Jiangnan Silk Bamboo Style". On weekends, she will wear classical clothes, hire a professional photographer, and play an erhu against the background of different scenery. When she comes back, she will cut the video by herself, grade it, dub it, and upload it.

"In the past few years that I have been doing Douyin live broadcast, I have basically devoted myself day after day, with almost no time to rest." Jin Yunqiu sighed a little, but when asked whether her wish came true, she jumped up again: "Of course, it has already been realized!"

Thanks to Jin Yunqiu's efforts, the revenue from Douyin's live broadcasts quickly increased with popularity. The monthly income from rewards can also exceed 10,000, or even higher. With just one month's income, she can already pay for one semester's tuition for her postgraduate studies.

Jin Yunqiu also took the opportunity to change his computer, sound card, and even the live broadcast room, so that the effect of the live broadcast room was completely new. For her, the Douyin live broadcast room is also a stage that excites her as well. She can't see the dense crowd under the stage, but she can feel the presence of the audience.

After graduating, Jin Yunqiu quickly found a job she liked - a performer in the Shaoxing Yue Opera Troupe. With no financial pressure, she can focus on her favorite folk music and integrate it with traditional opera.

"Due to the repeated epidemic, we have not performed this year. But we are arranging a big play "Meng Lijun"." Jin Yunqiu introduced her work with great interest. In the troupe, playing the erhu is different from the past. It is necessary to observe the actors' every move to cooperate with the expression. It must be adjusted according to the change of the voice of the singing. There are also more vibrato and glissando skills to be added.

"The time for rehearsal is from 9:30 to 4:00 pm every weekday. I'm still in the entry-level stage. I need to watch and learn more." The performance is planned for May this year. I believe that by that time, I will be able to skillfully pull the tunes from the Yue Opera to the fans in the live broadcast room."

Involving musical instruments

Erhu (Pinyin: Erhu) originated in the Tang Dynasty, called "Xiqin", and has a history of more than a thousand years. It is a traditional Chinese stringed instrument. Erhu, or Erxian Huqin, also known as "Nanhu" and "Omzi", is one of the main bowed and stringed instruments (wiping strings) in the Chinese national musical instrument family.

As an indispensable member of Chinese folk music, Erhu is deeply loved by musicians for its unique timbre and expressive force. However, because its structural materials are mainly natural materials such as wood and python skin, it is more sensitive to environmental changes, especially in the winter when the temperature drops sharply and the air is dry.
