June 10 is the "China's Cultural Heritage Day" in 2023. On that day, the "Fifth Beijing Guqin Culture Exhibition" was held in the art workshop of Beijing Federation of Literary and Art Circles. More than 80 teachers and students from capital universities experienced the Guqin production skills on site, and then enjoyed the colorful "People's Intangible Cultural Heritage" theme concert in Laoshe Theater. This event is a vivid practice of the Beijing Federation of Literary and Art Circles in implementing the "Beijing Colorful Culture · Youth Blooming" action plan, promoting the "We Are All Dream Chasers" art creation incubation project in capital universities, and focusing on the creation and cultivation of art talents in universities.

Guqin is one of the oldest plucked instruments in China, with a history of over 3000 years and a complete aesthetic system. In 2003, it was listed as a "representative work of human oral and intangible heritage" by UNESCO. To promote the excellent traditional Chinese culture, the Beijing Guqin Culture Research Association, in collaboration with the Beijing Federation of Literary and Art Circles and other units, held the "5th Beijing Guqin Culture Exhibition". This exhibition showcases the historical and cultural knowledge related to the guqin to the audience through physical objects, images, text, images, and interaction.

On the afternoon of June 10, more than 80 college teachers and students from Minzu University of China, National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts, Beijing Normal University, Capital Normal University, Beijing Institute of Printing, Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Beijing Union University, and Beijing International Studies University came to the Beijing Federation of Literary and Art Circles Art Workshop. Under the leadership of Guqin performer and Secretary General of the Chinese Guqin Culture Research Association, Wu Han, university teachers and students systematically learned about the historical inheritance, production techniques, performance genres, and other knowledge of Guqin. They also listened to the famous Guqin music played by Professor Wu Han and experienced the millennium old charm up close.

A reporter from Beijing Youth Daily noticed that there is a "Guqin Production Experience" section in this exhibition, where visitors can personally get in touch with the Guqin at zero distance. In addition, the "100 Questions on Guqin Knowledge" foldout distributed in the exhibition was welcomed by teachers and students, and everyone gained more knowledge about Guqin through answering questions. For example, what musical instrument does the qin refer to in the "Qin, Chess, Calligraphy, and Painting" four arts in China? What are the other names for guqin? What is the earliest qin song work that has been passed down to this day in China?

After the exhibition, teachers and students came to the Laoshe Theater in the Beijing Federation of Literary and Art Circles to watch the "People's Intangible Cultural Heritage Theme Concert" performed by the China National Ethnic Song and Dance Ensemble.

The theme concert of "The People's Intangible Cultural Heritage" focuses on building a strong sense of the Chinese Volksgemeinschaft, covering songs and instrumental performances of different ethnic customs in Xinjiang Uygur, Tibetan, Koreans, Mongols and other ethnic groups, and presents 20 national intangible cultural heritage projects with Guqin, Morin khuur, Qiang flute, Duxianqin, Lusheng, Xi Qin, Tianqin and other national instruments.

The attending university teachers and students exclaimed that the Beijing Guqin Culture Exhibition and the "People's Intangible Cultural Heritage" themed concert jointly presented an audio-visual feast of "Intangible Cultural Heritage", allowing everyone to experience the profound heritage and infinite charm of Chinese culture firsthand.
