On the evening of the 17th, the 28th "Autumn of Chengdu" Chengdu International Music Season ushered in a "highlight": Gong Linna and the large-scale original vocal divertimento "Suwu Shepherd" special concert.
Gong Linna joined hands with her friend Huang Hui, Guqin player Gu Lang, Suona player Shi Lin, and zither player Li Qinyu, together with the Chengdu Symphony Orchestra and the Student Choir of Sichuan Conservatory of Music, to interpret this divertimento. As the composer of divertimento, Huang Hui also specially customized Qin Song Huang Hu Song for Gong Linna, plus a small amount of western orchestral music.
The concert of that night started with the "Spring Return" from the symphonic suite "Four Seasons China II", followed by the vocal divertimento "Suwu Shepherd", which was widely expected. In the howling cold wind, Gong Linna told this old story: "The grass has been green for thousands of years. Pastoral songs have been sung all over the grassland. There is a song that has been sung for thousands of years. Grandma sang it to my father, and my father sang it to me, and I sang it in my heart..." Su Wu's powerful and magnificent journey out of the fortress was vividly displayed in Gong Linna's song.
The four movements in the first half of "Preface Song - An Ancient Story", "Xiao Song - Going Out of the Fortress", "Pastoral Song - Winter of Baikal Lake", and "Night Song - Watching the Moon and Watching Flowers" are all extracted from the historical events of Suwu Shepherd and reinterpreted one by one in the present tense. In terms of content, it focuses on the description of feelings, freehand brushwork and scenes. In terms of technique, it focuses on psychological, human and spiritual portrayal.
The movements in the second half included Spring Song - Shepherd Girl, Qin Song - Yellow Swan Song, Wine Song - Return, and Tail Song - Dream of Grassland. Among them, the chapter of "Wine Song - Return" echoes the previous chapter of "Xiao Song - Going Out of the Fortress", which is based on Su Wu's mixed feelings when he returned to his hometown. It abstracts the specific psychology of "going out" and "returning" in Chinese family feelings - how much sorrow there is when leaving home, and how many times joy there will be when he returns home. "I have stayed in Hu for 19 years and returned today. The thunder of thousands of miles flashed, the herdsmen of Beihai went home, climbed the Great Wall, looked south, and looked at Chang'an with tears in their eyes..." This is Gong Linna's own impression in Suwu Shepherd.
"Let young people know our history through singing." Gong Linna said so.
